well its officially sweatshirt/sweater weather... ummm YES! i have always loved fall and everything about it, halloween being the most wonderful part but back to school shopping, indian summer nights, getting hurricane-d on last thursday while waiting for the j.. haha everything's wonderful. but really. made of list of things i need to redesign my portfolio and to get rid of old work, so im starting on that this week, which should be refreshing. been applying a lot, haven't heard much but just feel like its a matter of time. been riding kiel's bike around, while i wait to pay for chelseas and get it from brock. everything else has been low key, i made baked ziti and homemade pizza this week, both really awesome. thinking taco's next. went out to queens center mall yesterday a quite ridiculous adventure, a little unnecessary but kiel got halo. got some la burrito and budweiser.. per usual. ooh new glasses and contacts this week... yesss.

its funny how time flies, looking back through old pictures always makes me wonder how will i be remember and more importantly how i will remember these times... as september quickly approaches i cant help but to wonder how ill remember this summer. maybe ill remember all the lazy days kiel and i spent, fridays at pianos, early morning train rides, graduation, bonnaroo, but what i liked most was all the time i spent in outerspace, drifting, widdling away my youth, or young adulthood, probably more like it since im 24 now. ehh. i dont know, looking through these photos hopefully help me put into perspective the time as it goes by, and remind me it wont last forever. because as much as i feel jayz's forever young, no one is exempt. there is no forever young. youth is relative.

dun dun dunnnnn.. so its august. le sigh. i feel like the summer is winding down, and theres still a few things i would like to do...boo boo. at least kiel and i made it to the beach, not sure thats gonna happen again for a while. so i am applying to the ps1 moma internship program with all fingers crossed, its the only things that stands between me and the real world at this point. kiel started his new job yesterday, which is exciting considering hes been chilling for a little too long.. we were supposed to go to the mad decent block party in philly saturday but i ended up loosing my voice so that didnt happen... been working on a wall piece for roasting plant, i developed a cute little character and everything that of course they nixed at the last moment, so now im doing this boring diagram whomp whomp. whatever. i need a new job anyway. thinking about heading to chicago in september need new glasses and contacts... and some quiet time with evan, john and natalie.its been a while. nothing else is really that new..blah blah. brunch with ana later this morning, weeee.

oh the beautiful people.
not really sure when this rollercoasters over, or if it just loops around and around forever. almost been two months since graduation and ive yet to figure anything out... i look at jobs and look at jobs, then stop looking at jobs. i have a job, not one i hate enough yet, but its a job, it pays, not enough but indeed it does pay. its weird, tonight i was riding around my neighborhood just to look around, and i realized that this the first place ive actually felt i belonged. my LA burrito on the corner, my bodega with 1.50 vitamin water, the L and M close by, my quiet little street, with cute trees.. i love bushwick. its understated underdeveloped overpopulated artsy haven... and then my mind like a flipped coin lands somewhere completely different, then i start thinking far away, back to europe, because that time almost a year ago is quickly approaching and i know my heart will start to long for it.. once the time comes. i dream of selling everything and abandoning this all my quiet street, the mta, my bodega, it all for something new and exciting, before this can even get old and normal. i curse the day when i bite the bullet and get that JOB i really want because then this rollercoaster i call life will pick a route and ride that out, and i will become restless yet again for another rocky ride. so until then i will take these ups and downs and hope to keep the balance somewhere between.

whoa. its literally been forever since i wrote, almost half the summers gone by, spend most of my day in dreamland, a little in roasting plant land and the other in space with kiel. bonnaroo was loverly, the 4th was decent fun. went to manhattan beach the other day with the bikes and kiel, had a beautiful day of swimming, drinking and riding around brighton beach, then i was forced to go on the cyclone, even though i dont really do rollercoasters, it wasnt so bad. still havent applied to many jobs and cant really find the motivation, so i keep it bummy until that time comes..

as i sit here in my parents hotel room recovering from a long graduation day and a broadway show, i couldnt help but to post this radical outing video. as i watched all the photos of the people i've had the pleasure of sharing most nights out with fly by, i couldnt help but see myself.. and laughed way too hard out loud. considering im new to the whole hot crew 57 and radical outing scene, i can honestly admit i love these kids. spending the last months of my college career with them has reminded me that in no way do i plan on growing up once today is over. you'll also see my loverly boyfriend throughout the whole video which makes it all the more worth it. <3

so its been forever since i posted and a lot has happened. we'll start with school shit. so finished my thesis project, it was decent, not good enough to be shown at the senior show, but it was a relief. i was already over it before it was over. two weeks left and my head will explode if i dont get there fast. not much left to do just finishing up my portfolio, finishing the exhibition plan we've been working on, a paper, a presentation and finishing roxi refreshing rub packaging. i dont think i have anticipated something so much in my life. graduation tminus 19 days. wooo.

finished anthro last friday to an amazingly ackward end, learned a lot and left just in time. no more 6am morning commutes or cone rolling. gonna miss katie though and i wish her the best of luck. and needless to say, i'll be seeing my new "bff" cecilia around this summer. glad that chapter in life is over. work is work, eric stepped down from greenwich as manager.. so sandy is back, and i actually have no complaints yet, so this summer should be decent.

amongst this all i have been hanging out with kiel a lot, last weekend we went to see the yankees play the white sox at yankee stadium, and after lots of shit talking i was the last one laughing. sox 7 yankees 6.. sweet. we went to the tribeca film fest wednesday to see "sex, drugs and rock n' roll" and it was awesome. we also watched requiem and kids, which i hadnt seen yet, and found interesting to say the least... the rest of the weekend was much of a blur, i know we hit pianos on friday and sunday i worked at orchard then we watched office space. got my tickets for bonnaroo and to fly back to the chi.. so excited. this trip to tennessee will be the most ridiculous thing ever, and i cant wait to chill with dev, katie and megan. this weekend should also be good, were trying to see "exit through the gift shop" banksy's film.

otherwise, brit had a birthday and is coming up in two weeks.. yess. the photos today are pretty self explanatory, another episode of idols... jay z, thom yorke, steed lord, bill murry and yoko, john and sean.

i am all over the place, my thesis is due in 9 days and im freaking out. everything has been really intense lately, which i normally love, but everything colliding at the same time is sooo much. ive decided to end anthro at the end of the month, because i've had enough, not that i dont enjoy it im just ready to leave, i think ive learned enough over the past couple of months. plus i went to lunch with cecila and we've decided to leave the same week, which should be nice. thesis means that after next wednesday i'll have mondays completely off, then thursday and fridays starting in may. cant wait. other than that all other people and things are good, more on all of that when my brain can untangle my social, personal, work, school and internship life from eachother. blah blah blahhh.

wow its been a while.. a good while. so i flew out to the chi last thursday for a little spring break of sorts, had a beautiful time reconnecting with my people. lots of shit happened, went to two potlucks, celebrated the birth of a bff, totally rammed into the back of a car and he didnt get out, soo thankful, went up to milwaukee to see the art museum, it had been too long. went to the mca yesterday, the visit confirmed that it is my favorite musuem of all time. got amazing thai and falafel.. broke my no cheese lent diet, and got a goooey grilled cheese in wisconsin from cluvers.. amazing. got some new gear and a little cash stack, from the rents, basically the whole focus of the trip. no just kidding. reunited with the best bff ever. all in all had a very nice last spring break!

so while i was away, DJ Atrak, the love of my musical life, celebrated a birthday himself, so this is a dedication to him. its all connected. so atrak, is how i heard of medhi, who i hadnt realized yet was the amazing husband of my tattoo's inspiration the loverly fafi, he also brought theophilus london, who i had the pleasure of meeting a few weeks back, via kiel... and to wrap it all up i threw in this awesome double ring inspired by mr.keith haring himself.. a good week, some good music, and always some good swagger jewerly.

wow this work as a chronological record of life since saturday night.

while saturday was a monsoon it still turned out to be a good night, kiel and i went to pianos, both got terrible first drinks.. then much better ones. the night just got better and better.

sunday worked after waking up at two very hungover, then went to work. boo.

monday was marina and the diamonds at LPR with amad and sara. good night, we got some drinkies before the show, which was nice to catch up with those kids.

tuesday blah blah blah.... today was weird. my thesis is heading to a beautiful place, i am sooo stoked to have spring break off to work on all the hand type i am doing on my maps. i feel like is moving positively in the right direction.. kiel is out at sxsw living out his dream which i am extremely jealous of.. off to shower and wash this mop on my head, then off to bed.. i work from 7-4, then 4:30-1, then 7-4, then 5:30 -2 for the next two days.. i hope i dont pass out. :x.

what a week. geez. random. phone died on monday night. which was annoying. if you know me at all you already know that i despise cell phones. but i have accepted their necessity and coped. so when my phone died, while i was in mid conversation with brit, i was needless to say annoyed. so i went by verizon yesterday and got them to get my insurance cracking to replace my old phone. yesterday for exhibition design we went to the museum of natural history for a tour of their exhibition design studio, which was pretty awesome. i realized though that im not interested in the scientific exhibition arena... thanks though. then amad, sara and i hit up the shake shack for a healthy first meal of the day at 1p : a strawberry shake and fries. because everything else there had cheese or meat. fail. then i made my way down to paper presentation,, to cop some paper for my maps, which are turning out to be extremely exciting. i have six weeks to kick then into gear before the jury for senior show. i am excited that i figured out my approach today, on my morning commute, i got soo many stares while illustrating the map boooklets, awesome. today was pretty melancholy. had kingsley this morning, snore. then lunch with the bunch and profolio class. then picked up the new phone from the job. lurked around the village while discussing the intricacies of life with biz. until i got tired of sharing too much info about our lives with random strangers encountered... oh well up tomorrow for anthrooo.

biggie biggie biggie can't you see, sometimes your words just hypnotize me, and i just love your flashy ways...

i remember the first time i discovered biggie, for real, not just hearing that shit on the radio, but actually listening to a whole biggie album it was ready to die and it was probably '02. i was a little late, but since that point, biggie has always been on heavy rotation. he was truly a genius, and not to be cliche but he left this borough wayyy to early. NO-NO-NOTORIOUS. i remember last year when alex and i went to see Notorious in theatres, we went back to his place and listened to biggie all night, cause the movie, in our opinion didnt really do biggie justice.. soo much love for him and his music. he is probably also one of the first rappers, to make me realize, before i even moved to nyc, while i was in philly that i need to make it out to brooklyn... and now almost eight years later, i cant imagine being in a better place, just wish he was still around to motivate and inspire the next generation..

wow its been a while, not even sure where to start, had a good but packed weekend. i have next friday and saturday which is soo neccessary, to catch up on all my thesis and work. the internship is going smooth.. fridays are better when my "new bff", as samar likes to call,cecila, is there. oh and then there's johnny.. wow get it together, i opened a can of worms, but hey if he wants to stay and play, then hey. closed last night with aaron whos pretty cool, he plays trumpet in a few jazz bands and lives over in south slope. oh and scott hit me up aboutworking on the logo for his beer garden... yes sir. saturday i went out with kiel, we got dinner at pianos, then made it over to his boy claudios, met up with stine, seattle steve, and paloma. lurked to some bar in williamsburg and played with their way too cute gripper, a little french bulldog.. needless to say i got twisted and we headed back into the city... then yesterday i went to fusion, the fit/parsons fashion show with nori.. goodtimes, but definitely not what i expected. thats been of late, gotta shower, then see kingsley and work again. blah blah.

so i started working on my packaging design projects, so of course i fell in love with these and feel the need to share. the project is to design a logo/box for a fictional imperial gardens tea line, called "taste of.." china, india and england. amad and i were talking of doing wes anderson inspired boxes, i already think my packaging design style is close to his but now, im gonna turn it up a notch.. then i got the idea to do a design based on window styles from these places.. i have done 9 of 30 thumbnails so i think i have so more space to explore. also came up with the theme of my thesis. i have picked 14 brooklynites to map, i will discuss and research their lives in brooklyn, and they are 14 completely different people so it should be interesting.

so valentines day is quicky approaching so instead of putting up people i love, i am going to share things i cant get enough of. simple as that. here we go.. so my obsession with bunnies is in full bloom, even to the fact that over break, i seriously considered getting a bunny! they are just soo fucking cute and fluffy. okay, i still want one. robyn's roger rabbit, would be it's name no matter male or female.. love. the paper flowers shown here are from some event coordinator's portfolio, aren't they soo precious. it reminds me of the semi-hideous flower strings i made for anthro a couple of weeks ago, these are truly amazing. the wooden heart dish, duh. ohhh a new find, these collaged diamonds, i should make a series out of paper for my wall aren't they gorgeous, maybe i should suggest these to a future fiance as a prefectly cute proposal for someone like me, who won't support the diamond trade. cute right? and last but seriously not least, the japanese colored tape. i saw them when i was in london and in switzerland, soo cute. the colors are simply amazing, kinda like the colors on the marc jacobs rainbow zipper necklace, CAN NOT GET ENOUGH. sigh, there pretty expensive but as soon as i get paid, these will be delivered.. by my stalker post man who saw me half naked this morning, like the two other times he's come, i rush out of bed to answer the door, and cant ever seem to find enough clothing to put on so my oversized top is always falling down.. geez.

this post is mainly just some inspiration i have found around lately. my map studies are coming well, but isn't the white screenprinted map just beautiful. thinking i need to locate a place to screen print soon. found this crazy chicago neighborhood map today too, which i need to encorporate into my project somehow.. we'll see. and the gold die cut page from that book!!! what i need to find this book pronto.. seriously love the color choices and the medium, i mean damn. and the little wall of abstractions, love.

so my new celebrity crush, just in time for valentines. even though i do have a old crush too. 2009 was hard for that relationship.. but now he's far away. so kid cudi steps in. so fresh and so clean. and were both on the pursuit of happiness and wouldn't mind kicking back and toking. plus who wouldnt love those puppy dog eyes.. anywho. love him! anywayy, started working on my maps, started with the mta one then found the moleskin one i've had for a couple of years and i have the old school vintage one. there all up which is exciting but i have to make a silhouette sometime soon. working through some ideas. a good brooklyn day, trader joes, and some random art store, and chipotle. i am out of oj though which is sad because im soo thirsty. just watched the end of mean girls.. that move might be on par with clueless in a couple of years, some good subtle laughs. well, tomorrow supposed to be the new hire orientation at anthro but i might pass.

so today was big. senior project class and senior porfolio class. sounds win win right. wrong. i have sooo much to do before may that i wonder if i will ever survive if i do get a job, but i 've done it before so hey. started the silhouette project with an mta map, next step is get more maps. also found a crazy amount of information about the CTA, the chicago el system in this transit maps of the world book. crazy. so thinking about designing my own subway map. hmm. yeah. went to lunch with amelia, finally taco bandito.. and saw moo. today was overall good a awesome designer came to talk in sandy's class, maurizio masi which was inspiring and reassuring.. got a call back from the job, i got it but it wont start til the 22nd. which is kinda sad cause im broke. so, the first week of school is over.. internship tomorrow.. i have faith, it will be awesome.

having some time to kill, my 2-5 packaging class is taught by an old schooler so the first day is short and sweet, which is awesome except my next class isn't until 6:30.. geez. so after grabbing a margarita square slice at rosa's which was amazing per usual and walking down eighth a little, i came back to the library to maintain all the heat i had left. so i was preparing an atrak inspired post for this afternoon but instead, i was on the sartorialist blog and read his entry about romance and how the small things matter so much, which actually was cute but just made me want to watch 30 rock. then he got to the part about his woman, who i instantly had to find out, who she was and what she looks like. so after a quick google, i found garance dore, imagine accents over the e, in dore. and it was magic, i had for a while now loved these illustrations but my habit of just dragging pictures to the desktop and moving on, prevented me most times from knowing whose work was whose. soo today i can finally put her name on these fabulous illustrations of women. i remember years ago sitting in the barnes and noble, in evanston, where i grew up, looking at a fashion illustration book and being amazed with every page i turned. well here i am today some six years later, still feeling that way. scott schuman has amazing taste not only in clothing and style but also obviously in women.

side note- second interview at choice market dumbo went extremely well, i think i got it but i wont jump the gun just yet.. must wait til my 6:30 class is over to know... its killing me. i want to get this job, so i can get on my way making money again, its been a long drought, considering i havent worked anywhere in over six months.. i want too buy sooo many things, and pay my cc bill.. grrr. please call me reggie and jenna. please.

success for me, is having a job i love, that will provide me enough income to someday be featured on the @sartorialist blog .. i said it.

what a first day. i really do feel brand new. started the day, late yay for class at 2. had lunch with kyle at brown cup, its kinda of our tradition. before every semester starts we lunch, today at brown cup, last semester, considering london it was jameson at black door, or dinner, aka blockheads with magaritas, last summer, and last winter semester lunch at brooklyn bagel. so today was no different, catching up on the goss, like scott likes to say.

next was senior project with kingsley, goodness. i mainly zoned out thinking about my mapping project when he talked about silhouettes, i mean i wrote a whole paper on kara walker last semester, i know what a silhouette is. got to catch up with amad, sara and alison and see the rest of the people in our block. class went well, kingsley wanted to talk after. had a nice conversation with him about my mapping ideas, we decided i should focus my mapping on a common theme, like new yorkers and their neighborhoods or something similiar, rather from being so personal, which i agree with.

after met up with kiki, havent seen her in a looong time. ended up chilling with her friend, che, the elevator operator guy in the administrative building. enjoyed a b on the roof, amazing view of the empire state building.. ridiculous. then she had to go to class. had a nice walk down 23 to the 6..

got home and got a call from choice market, second interview tomorrow at 12.. which is kinda annoying cause i have class til 12, but ill try and get out early.. yay maybe a job!

i have a lot of ideas for february.. which is soo exciting. tomorrows a loooong day class from 9-9! ohhh no.

it hit me immediately when i woke up this morning that this is the last day of true freedom, i will have in a very long time. school starts tomorrow and my job hunt seems to be getting closer.. i hope. then i started getting very nostalgic and sad and then i was like whatever, but to avoid further avoid the future, i have remained in bed, until i feel it is truly time to let my bed go. no worries it will be soon, however its sad because this span of time from the beginning of august til now has probably been the most beautiful. after working my ass off for what seems like forever before that, it was heaven. from brooklyn to dc, virginia, chicago, london, nottingham, paris, barcelona, rome, naples, capri, basel, zurich, germany, baltimore, detroit to now. the amazing people that i have met and hope to remain in touch with, the whole thing. plus its entering supposedly the best part of school, the final semester. this semester is all about mapping. mapping is my thesis, so i will map. this post is a good place to start thinking, and i already have stored many map filled blog posts to come in the future. mapping is all about the journey, if one survives the journey they can map it, its like a gift. okay.. the pictures. the doors, i absolutely love and thought those are the ones i want to be on FIT on monday afternoon, i would be sooo much happier to walk back into FIT if those were the doors, but ohh well. loooks like ill have to go back to france for that.. numero dos... i feel like this can sum up my break, lots of thinking, overthinking, underthinking, staring and realizing that it all turns out to nothing... BUNNY. also have realized i am kinda add, which makes life short and sweet, television a nightmare and bunnies adorable! look at it, soo furry, i think i want one, after the job i want/need comes... or maybe not a bunny. after all this rambling i feel like the whole less is more thing, got lost, but in actuality and reality its true, i have developed this subconsciously by getting rid of sooooo many things during this 'break' i have got rid of soo much that i feel like i have soo little, but everything i have i now need and love. soo i guess i was right? and last but certainly not least i do love new york. the transition back into my brooklyn vibe has been neccessary and sad/depressing at times, but i dooo love my life here, the squirrel that woke me up in my window this morning, people laughing at running cops on subway platforms, cheap food, amazing neighborhoods, i mean life is pretty good right. right.

kinda a random post so all i could think about was things i love today, even considered making a book just of things i love, but then rethought that. soooo the necklace at top i originally saw on my first trip to the marc jacobs store in london and i fell in love, it was gold in the store, but then i went online and i am not one for rainbow things but this is amazinggg, look at the shades of the colorssss.. I WANT IT. once i get a job i will insist on going straight to the marc jacobs store on bleecker street and will buy this necklace and oh sooo many other things.. i also since my scrabble 5-0 winning streak have missed scrabble.. i feel like its a game not suited for the young new york, let alone brooklyn life i inhibit.. ohh i should go on craigslist and find people to play with. YES. okay.. first and foremost i do NOT appreciate or enjoy gaga BUT her whole hair bow phase is pretty amazing, and for this alone i will respect her.. i want one, but i would probably never wear it because it seems so weird/wrong, but i think its an awesome innovation for the bow world, in which i am completely infatuated... LOVE ME.. this is funny, i originally collected the red version of this sticker on 28th and 6th ave last march, before this started popping up everywhere and its been securely fastened on my ipod cover ever since and i LOVE IT. im glad to see it around now, it makes me feel so special.. which i am obviously.. maybe not for the reasons i had hoped, but none the less.. finally but sure as hell not least, my love for my anthro internship is growing exponentially... today was pretty amazing, i learned how to steam, i made moss covered chicken wire balls, canvas ouches for flowers, picked many of staples out of wood, and almost learned how to use our awesome sewing machine.. the final picture reminds me of anthro creativity, i really envy all the people i work with they're soo creative and doo it for so little recognition.. which i admire soo much. so here's to you : val, samar, wren, nikki, megan, cecile and ann. gotta go watch my first project runway of the season.. soo behind. in the past few days of the new year, i have given lots of thought to the challenge i and i am sure, "we", call men. i am not one to get obsessive and ridiuclous, but quickly, this year i am looking not to be single most of the year, to actually take my time. to be happy and not to comprise too much along the way. the images have it all, a cute childlike devotion, style, grace, humor, teddy-bear qualities, matching in interests and finally, gorgeousness.
